Italy Yoga Retreat 2011

Balancing Body, Mind and Spirit in the Umbrian Countryside

September 24 — October 1, 2011

Please join teachers Ali Campbell and Danielle Diamond for an experience of a lifetime in the Umbrian Countryside of Italy at Locanda del Gallo. Daily yoga practices, paired with meditation and pranayama techniques make for an invigorating yet calming retreat. Leaving your daily schedule, phone and computer behind tends to make more room for an expansion in your practice and more space to enjoy the Locanda, a beautiful 12th century restored castle. Umbria is known as the “green heart of Italy” and you will understand why once you arrive at the villa and take in the unspoiled, surrounding views. Daily meals are prepared by the for us by the chef, often times using fresh vegetables and fruit from the villa. All olive oil used at the Locanda is from the small olive grove on the grounds.

Accommodations are tastefully done with a nod to the owners’ travels in Indonesia. All rooms have windows with breathtaking views of the landscape. Bed linens are of high quality and duvets have an “at home” soft-cotton feel. Bathrooms include traditional tile work, and glass door showers. Rooms are cleaned daily by the accommodating and gracious staff.

The price of your retreat includes your room, 3 oraganic meals daily, all yoga practices, a day trip to Florence, and a wine tasting and tour of a local vineyard. If weather permits, we enjoy a fire ceremony one evening. Also included is the use of the beautiful infinity pool, jacuzzi, and sotto terra (underground, built into the side of a hill) spa. Which has a common area for relaxing and reading, drinking your tea or cappuccino, and private treatment rooms. (Spa treatments are a´la carte). Walk the grounds, hike the surrounding hills, come…unwind with us.

PRICING FOR RETREAT (register before January 1, 2011 and save $100)

quad with shared bath $1550

double with shared bath $1900

single with private bath $2400

Participants are responsible for their own airfare, and transportation to and from the villa. Look for flights to Rome airport (then car, taxi or train), or Milan airport and then connect to Perugia. The villa is approximately half an hour from Perugia via taxi. In our past experience, many students connect before the retreat and organize themselves in renting a car, or hiring a driver, or taking the train. We are available to advise you on your options if needed. Train information can be found here www.trenitalia.com .

Lunch on our day trip to Florence is not included. We recommend bringing “pocket money” for shopping during day trips, bodywork, and tips for the villa staff if you so desire.

We also recommend purchasing travel insurance to protect your investment, should anything unexpected happen, such as illness, theft, emergency, etc. www.travelsecure.com is a good choice.

Please download and print the release and intake form and return it with your deposit per the instructions. Questions? Email or call Ali.
